Skimmer Flashback
So it only seems fitting that the first blog post should be devoted to CB13′s first event for this year: Friday, September 16, 2011 a.k.a. SKIMMER. Can I just say, how friggin’ awesome Skimmer was?! I know it’s already been almost two months since Skimmer happened, but I am still reveling over the success of the event. As this is the first event I helped plan since joining Class Board last semester, it was such an awesome feeling seeing my fellow students enjoying all the fun activities: getting their ever-so-lovely caricatures drawn, nom-nom-ing on delicious food, singing along to feel-good songs, and uh, did I mention going up on the hot air balloon?!!!
I was very fortunate to be able to go up on one of these ginormous things. Man was it exhilarating! The guy working commented how we were the giddiest group by far [hehe?]. Nevertheless, what a great experience, all with a good cause, too. As CB 13 and CB 14′s goal to bring back Skimmer to its roots, I think I can safely say we did. We not only returned to Skimmer’s roots, but we took a chance, and we created a new lasting memory in our fellow students’ experience at Penn. I must say though, I cannot stress enough how many people I need to thank on behalf of CB13:
- CB14: You guys are awesome.
- Rodney: ’nuff said.
- Students of the Class of 2013 and 2014: Thanks for coming!! I really happy so many people turned out, and I really hope you enjoyed it as much as I did!
- Facilities: You guys are incredibly helpful. The least I could do was sneak a slice of pizza for you guys.
- Administration: Mwahhh~
- Vendors and Sponsors: Thank you for being so amazingly cooperative. You made my day a lot less complicated than it could’ve been.
We brought Skimmer back. Whaddup.
